Pregnant Woman Dies from Coronavirus Overnight, Minister Reports

The Minister of Health Anahit Avanesyan presented the coronavirus situation in Armenia at the National Assembly today. She noted that yesterday, 810 new cases were confirmed, and 30 citizens passed away.

"With sadness, I must report that we had the death of a pregnant woman overnight due to COVID-19," the minister stated.

According to the minister, pregnant women are at greater risk when infected with the coronavirus delta variant. "We have more than a hundred pregnant women, almost half of whom have pneumonia, and the team of doctors is doing everything to provide them with the best medical assistance, but we are seeing such tragic cases," the minister added.
