Unknown Individuals Steal Wire Under 3000 Volt Voltage

On November 4, unknown individuals stole 120 meters of the contact network along the Sevan-Dzovagyugh railway section, cutting the wire under 3000 volts of voltage. Recovery efforts lasted 5 hours, during which the movement of freight trains was halted.

A report has been submitted to the police, whose representatives are taking operational measures to uncover the crime.

The South Caucasus Railway Company has incurred significant material damage.

Incidents of theft and damage to railway property are becoming increasingly frequent and are becoming dangerous. While cases of theft of communication cables or contact networks not under the voltage of secondary tracks have been recorded in the past, this incident stands out due to the recklessness of the actions.

Fortunately, there are no casualties or injuries, and traffic was suspended in time.

The railway company once again warns citizens about the risks of violating safety standards in railway infrastructure. By interfering with the operation of railway systems, citizens not only endanger their health and lives, but their actions can also harm third parties.
