Man Closes Himself in Train Compartment and Shoots at Police Officer in Russia
At the Tula station, a passenger on the Moscow-Adler train displayed inappropriate behavior, locked himself in a compartment, and subsequently fired at a police officer. This information was reported by the Transportation Department of the Central Federal District of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs.
"On November 6, around 01:30, the line department of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs received a notification from the head of the intercity train that one of the passengers was behaving inadequately," the report states.
While the transportation police were arriving at the scene, the man had locked himself in the compartment. The officers attempted to convince him to open the door, but he fired his weapon, injuring one officer in the hand. The injured officer received medical assistance on the spot, and his life is not in danger.
Following this, the police surrounded the train and evacuated the other passengers, none of whom were harmed. The shooter refused to leave the compartment voluntarily and was apprehended by Rosgvardiya employees who arrived at the scene. It was determined that the shooter is a resident of Stavropol, born in 1977. The man is currently in police custody.
