It's Joyful and Inspiring: Street Lighting After 30-40 Years, Says Pashinyan

Subvention programs must become the key tool for balanced territorial development. This was stated today, on November 4, during a government session by Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan.

According to him, those regions where the consolidation has already taken place lead in subvention programs. “It is very important that when decisions are properly implemented, we can say that there cannot be a single community in Armenia where significant capital investment has not been made. Today, roads are being built where no work has been done for 30-40 years, and street lighting is being introduced where there has been no light for that long, and this is very important, joyful, and inspiring,” said the Prime Minister.

In summarizing his remarks, the Prime Minister noted that over 200 million dollars have been invested in communities during the years 2018-2021.

Deputy Prime Minister Suren Papikyan also mentioned that the motivation for the population to live and create has changed, as there has been some disappointment due to the lack of movement in communities over the years. “But now we see that people are beginning to relate differently to the territorial body and the government,” he said.

It is noteworthy that today the government decided to allocate 532 million drams for subvention programs to Armenian regions.
