Russia's Main Challenge is Preventing Destabilization, Lavrov Says
After the Taliban came to power in Afghanistan, Russia's main goal is to prevent destabilization in Central Asian countries. This was stated by Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov in an interview with Russia-24 television, as reported by TASS.
“The main thing for us is their stability, since we do not share a border with our Central Asian allies, and almost all of them operate under a visa-free regime,” Lavrov said.
The Russian Foreign Minister emphasized that the threats of terrorist infiltration and drug trafficking must be suppressed within Afghanistan itself.
