Saakashvili Promises to ‘Tell the Whole Truth’
The former president of Georgia, Mikheil Saakashvili, who is currently in the Rustavi prison, has urged the country's authorities to schedule a court session regarding his case, during which he promises to reveal the ‘whole truth about everything’. This was reported by RIA Novosti, citing a post on Saakashvili's Facebook page.
“Instead of disseminating my videos shot in various exotic locations, I advise the ‘authorities’ to take me to their ‘court’ so that the Georgian people and the international community can hear the truth about everything from my lips. Or are you the ones who fear the truth the most?” he wrote.
Earlier, the Georgian television channel Imedi published footage taken from Saakashvili’s phone, showing how the former president hid in a truck while crossing the country’s border.
