Video: Water Tariff Will Increase to 200 Drams Starting January 1, Says Regulator Head

The head of the Public Services Regulatory Commission, Garegin Baghramyan, announced during a briefing with reporters in the parliament that the water tariff will increase starting January 1, 2022.

“We are discussing the possibility of having a long-term pricing policy with the Water State Committee and Veolia company, meaning there will be such changes in the rental contract that we will have stable pricing policy for the next 10 years,” Baghramyan stated, suggesting that a specific increase in tariff will remain stable over the decade.

“The request for the increase was 43 drams, in relation to the current 180. But I want to remind you that the base price, which won the 2016 competition, was already set at 214 drams for 2022. We are now considering 214 drams and adding those adjustment coefficients on top of that,” said the head of the Regulatory Commission, adding that the increase will take effect on January 1.
