Video: Mount Aso Erupts in Japan, Footage Released

Mount Aso has become active in Japan, as reported by the Japan Meteorological Agency. The height of the smoke column has reached 3,500 meters, with volcanic rocks ejected up to 1 kilometer away. Meteorologists have warned of the dangers of rock ejections and pyroclastic flows.

The "Ikata" nuclear power plant is located 130 kilometers away from the volcano. Aso is part of a volcanic chain, with Nakadake being one of its most active volcanoes. During an eruption in September 2017, the altitude of the smoke column reached 2,000 meters. In 1953, 90 people were affected by rock ejections.
