Russian Peacekeepers Enter Military Unit and Demand Removal of Artsakh Republic Flag: Alvina Aghababyan

The head of Strategic Research, Alvina Aghababyan, wrote on her Facebook page: "On October 15, the Russian peacekeepers entered the Artsakh Defense Army's unit N and demanded the removal of the flag of the Artsakh Republic from the military base. Our soldiers, who fought against the enemy for 44 days for the sake of the homeland and the state, whose symbol is precisely that flag, naturally did not remove it and sent the peacekeepers on their way.

As an initial reaction, one wants to succumb to temptation and emotions and say a few sweet words about the Russians, but when you hear that according to an Armenian Parliament member, 'It's very dangerous, Armenia has no future without Artsakh,' the main goal is Armenia, not Artsakh. The issue cannot be about considering that territory as Armenian; the issue should be about whether these people are in danger within Azerbaijan or not,' you understand that you have nothing to say to the Russians.

If a representative of your country’s legislative body can fully imagine Armenia without Artsakh, moreover, accepts Artsakh as part of Azerbaijan, why shouldn’t a Russian say, 'Lower the Artsakh flag from the military unit'? However, there’s something much more important here. It must indeed be said: NO and be firm in your NO. Every small or large concession will lead to a new concession. And the language of power and dignity is recognized by everyone, including the enemy."
