Iran to Buy Fighters and Helicopters from Russia
The Chief of Staff of the Iranian Armed Forces, Mohammad Bagheri, announced today that Iran is in negotiations with Russia to purchase fighter jets and helicopters. This was reported by РИА Новости.
It is noted that the agreements will be signed after the end of the UN embargo on arms exports to Iran.
Bagheri arrived in Moscow yesterday, and it was reported that he intends to discuss recent events in Afghanistan with Russian Defense Minister Sergey Shoigu, as well as the signing of a contract for the purchase of Russian weapons.
