Trying to Raise the Money: How Much Bail Will Free the Deputy Mayor of Goris
The Deputy Mayor of Goris, Menua Hovsepyan, will be released on bail. This information was provided to Sputnik Armenia by his lawyer, Armen Melkonyan.
"The court has set the bail amount at 30 million drams. We are trying to gather that amount. It is possible that we will offer a house of equivalent value instead of the money," Melkonyan said.
It should be noted that Menua Hovsepyan was arrested on August 17. He has been charged under Article 179, Part 3, Subsection 1 of the RA Criminal Code (embezzlement or misappropriation by using official position, in particularly large amounts) and Articles 149.1, Part 2, Subsections 1 and 2 of the RA Criminal Code (coercing participation in electioneering while using an official position).
