You Will Now Pay Millions for Insult and Slander

The bill authored by the President of the National Assembly, Alen Simonian, has been recognized by the Constitutional Court as compliant with the Constitution.

For insults, the fine has been increased from the previous 1 million drams to now a maximum of 3 million drams, while for slander, the fine has risen from 2 million to a maximum of 6 million drams.

The Constitutional Court was approached by the President of Armenia regarding the conformity with the Constitution.
