«This is called a controlled situation, the shot was directly to the heart»: Metakse Hakhobyan

This is a disgrace; there has been no action from our side up to this moment when we should have reacted swiftly to what happened. This was stated by Metakse Hakhobyan, a member of the Artsakh National Assembly’s ‘Justice’ faction, in an interview with NEWS.am, regarding the tragic incident that occurred today in Artsakh.

“This is a disgrace. I can no longer imagine what the authorities plan to do while sitting silently and with their mouths shut. The shot was directly to the heart, meaning it was a deliberate attempt to kill a person; until now, they intended to intimidate people, but now they specifically intended to kill a person who was working in his garden with a tractor. They want to deepen the atmosphere of fear in Artsakh with this. This is called peacetime; this is also called a controlled situation,” she said.

According to the parliament member, the authorities are doing nothing to ensure the safety of residents so that people do not want to leave Artsakh.

Earlier, it was reported that on October 9, at 13:15, the Martakert district police department announced that a resident of Martakert city, born in 1966, Aram Tepeants, received a fatal wound from a sniper of the Azerbaijani armed forces while working in a pomegranate garden adjacent to the city.
