Ukrainian Lawmaker Found Dead: He Was the Author of the Armenian Genocide Recognition Bill
The Kyiv police received information on October 8 that Ukrainian MP Anton Polyakov had been found dead in the Dniprovskiy district of the capital, according to international news outlets.
“Preliminary investigations by law enforcement determined that the man felt unwell in a taxi, and paramedics attempted to hospitalize him, but his death was recorded. The police are currently conducting necessary preliminary investigative actions to clarify the circumstances of the lawmaker's death at the scene. His body will be sent for forensic examination to determine the cause of death,” the report stated.
Anton Polyakov was an entrepreneur from Chernihiv. He had been elected to the Verkhovna Rada on the list of the “Servant of the People” party, as reported by Ukrinform. It is worth noting that he was the author of the Armenian Genocide Recognition bill.
