Gunfire Resembling a Action Movie in Hrazdan: Shootout at Barbershop Leaves Injured
On October 7, gunfire rang out in the Kotayk region. At approximately 12:25 PM, the Hrazdan Medical Center reported to the police that a citizen with a gunshot wound had been admitted.
According to Shamshyan.com, the head of the Kotayk regional police department, Artur Zohrabyan, accompanied by the deputy police chief for operations, Khoren Barkhoyan, arrived at the hospital. Also present was the acting head of the Hrazdan police department.
Police determined that the injured individual is a 30-year-old resident of Hrazdan, identified as Moris S. While the police were investigating the circumstances of the incident, law enforcement was alerted by the Sevan Medical Center that two other citizens with gunshot wounds had been admitted.
Officers from the Sevan police, under the command of the head of the Gegharkunik regional police department, Artur Mkrtchyan, and the head of the Sevan police department, Suren Janikyan, established that the injured were 22-year-old Ashot K. from Tsaghkadzor and 21-year-old Samvel A. from Vanadzor. Samvel A. was later transferred from the Sevan Medical Center to the Izmirlian Medical Center in Yerevan.
Members of the Kotayk and Gegharkunik regional police departments discovered that the individuals had sustained their gunshot wounds during a shootout that took place at a barbershop on August 23 Street in the Center district of Hrazdan.
Doctors reported to the police that the injured were unable to explain the circumstances of their injuries. While doctors fought for their lives, operational information began streaming into the Hrazdan police department. Utilizing this information, the criminal police of the RA, along with various police district departments including Hrazdan, Kotayk, Nairi, and Charentsavan, along with investigators from the Kotayk regional investigative department, conducted necessary operational and investigative measures.
It was revealed that on the same day at approximately 11:50 AM, an argument occurred at the barbershop involving Ashot K., Samvel A., and Moris S. During this confrontation, Ashot K. fired his “Makarov” handgun at Moris S., who was hit in the leg. In response, Moris S.'s brother, 32-year-old Avis S., fired at Ashot K. and Samvel A. with an unknown type of firearm, injuring them in the legs as well.
A criminal case has been initiated at the Kotayk regional investigative department under parts 1 and 6 of Article 34-104 and paragraph 1 of Article 235 of the RA Criminal Code.
The forensic experts from the RA Polic's forensic department, led by Chief L. Safaryan, also arrived at the scene. The investigation at the site was overseen by Ashot Khachatryan, the senior investigator for particularly important cases at the Kotayk regional investigative department.
Various caliber cartridge casings, blood-like traces, and a damaged window were discovered at the scene. The police and investigative department are undertaking necessary operational, investigative, and collaborative measures to clarify the circumstances of the incident and locate Avis S. and the firearms used in the crime.
