Former French Gendarme a Serial Killer: Among the Victims of the Long-Sought Murderer are Children
Former Paris police officer François Verove has been found dead in the vicinity of Montpellier. He left a note stating his intention to commit suicide, confessing to numerous crimes committed 35 years ago, reports Le Parisien.
The 59-year-old gendarme took his own life in the coastal town of Gros-du-Roi when investigators called him in for questioning. He is suspected of being involved in a series of high-profile murders and rapes that occurred between 1983 and 1994.
In the suicide note, Verove claims that he was indeed the same serial killer known as 'Pockmarked,' but stated that he had not committed any crimes since 1997. He did not disclose the names of the victims or any further details.
Due to the criminal activities, at least three murders and six rapes have occurred, with children among the victims.
