Chased and Fired Two Shots: Investigation Details on Attempted Murder
The Investigative Committee of Armenia has revealed details regarding an attempted murder case involving a 39-year-old resident of Yerevan against a fellow citizen.
According to a statement from the Committee, based on factual data gathered during the investigation, in April and May 2021, a 39-year-old man engaged in an argument with a 27-year-old individual near an auto service point on Arshakunyats Avenue in Yerevan.
On May 25, the 39-year-old pursued the 27-year-old, who was driving a BMW, from Nor Kharberd village in Ararat Province to Artashat Highway in Yerevan in his own "Vaz 2107" vehicle. At approximately 6:30 PM, he fired two shots at the 27-year-old with a firearm he possessed illegally. However, the crime was not completed due to unforeseen circumstances, as the young man managed to flee in his vehicle.
On the same day, at approximately 7:30 PM, the 27-year-old sought medical assistance at the "Shengavit" medical center with serious life-threatening injuries. Based on the sufficient evidence gathered, the 39-year-old resident of Yerevan has been charged under Article 34-104, Part 1 (attempted murder) and Article 235, Part 1 (illegal possession of firearms) of the Criminal Code of Armenia. He has been remanded in custody as a preventive measure.
