35-Year-Old Driver Hits 3 Children in Artsakh and Flees the Scene; Found Dead Hanging from a Tree
Today, on September 21, at 14:09, the emergency response center of the Artsakh Ministry of Internal Affairs received a report, simultaneously with the police duty station, that a 35-year-old resident of the Taghavard community in the Martuni region, identified as V.A., had hit three minors with his Volkswagen vehicle.
The Artsakh Emergency Service states that officers from the Martuni regional department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, who immediately responded to the scene, discovered that while driving through the village of Karmir Shuka, an explosion had occurred under unclear circumstances inside V.A.'s vehicle, which caused him to panic and hit three 14-year-old boys from the K. Shuka community. Subsequently, the driver lost control of the vehicle, collided with an oncoming Opel Astra, and fled the scene.
The injured children were transported by ambulance to the Arevik children's medical facility. Their health condition is reported to be stable.
The service has reported that at 15:40, the body of driver V.A. was found hanging from a tree in the vicinity of K. Shuka. The investigation is being conducted by the Martuni regional police department.
