Iran Deploys Large Numbers of Armored Vehicles, Tanks, and Artillery Systems Near Azerbaijani Border, Expert Says

According to Iranian media reports, the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) has moved significant offensive military hardware and personnel to the border area with the Republic of Azerbaijan. This was stated by Iranian expert Garik Misakyan.

Among the units sent to the Araks river region is the "Ashura's 31st Ground Brigade", formed during the Iran-Iraq War and specialized in carrying out special operations.

A considerable number of armored vehicles, tanks designed for offensive warfare, armored personnel carriers, and artillery systems have been deployed to the border with Azerbaijan. Notably, these include mortars armed with 122-millimeter missiles and the 240-millimeter "Fajr-3" missile systems.

IRGC forces have also deployed reconnaissance drones from Ardabil city and have utilized Iran's latest Qods Mohajer-6 drones, which are capable of reaching speeds of 200 km/h with a maximum range of 2000 km and are armed with remote-controlled and laser-guided anti-tank missiles.

Additionally, it is noted that two missile stations belonging to the IRGC Aerospace Force located in Tabriz can easily target ballistic precision missiles even from near the military bases of Kurdamir and other areas close to Baku.
