Car Plunges into Ravine on Kapan-Kajaran Highway

On September 22, at 10:30 AM, the Syunik Regional Crisis Management Center received a report that a car had fallen into a ravine on the Kapan-Kajaran highway. This was announced by the Information Department of the Ministry of Emergency Situations.

A team from the firefighting and rescue squad of the regional rescue department of the Ministry of Emergency Situations was dispatched to the scene. It was revealed that a Toyota Rav4 vehicle (driver: R.A., born in 1962) had veered off the roadway near the 7th kilometer of the Kapan-Kajaran section of the Yerevan-Meghri highway and rolled about 100 meters down into the ravine. The driver died at the scene.

Rescuers disconnected the vehicle's electric system, retrieved the driver's body from the ravine, and brought it to an ambulance.
