Why and How the Lawyer of the State Revenue Committee, Narek Aloyan, Was Dismissed: The Division of ‘Blacks’ and ‘Whites’ or a Personal Resignation
Following Rustam Badasyan's appointment as the head of the State Revenue Committee, he began to carry out personnel purges within the system, particularly in the central office. Numerous individuals have been dismissed, and criminal cases have been initiated. Recently, Narek Aloyan, a lawyer at the State Revenue Committee’s Office for the Implementation of Cash Register Machines, was also dismissed. This was reported by Hraparak.
Aloyan had represented the interests of the SRC in court on 5 cases as a representative of the state, and these cases are still ongoing. However, this did not concern Badasyan, who issued a dismissal order for Aloyan. The reasoning provided was that he had been a defender of the ‘blacks’, meaning that he had represented the interests of Armen Tavadayan, Ara Saghatelyan, and others in court.
Aloyan himself also brought attention to this issue with a Facebook post: “Reflections of a 'politicized' lawyer: I am a lawyer. I am neither a ‘black’ nor a ‘white’. I am a lawyer, with all the semantic weight of the word and the entire value system of a lawyer’s mission. About two months after I provided legal services, following the directive of a newly appointed head of a state body, the entity today refused my services. No comments were presented regarding the scope or quality of the legal services I provided. Only one oral justification was given, which was the fact that I provided legal services to opposition political figures, in other words, my being a ‘politicized’ lawyer. I do not mention the name of the state body and I do not mention the name of the political figure whose shine troubles specific individuals, so that my post is not improperly personalized. In the political arena, every patriotic individual can have their say. Currently, I have nothing to say. It is a time of silence for me and many others. A day will come when silence will end. Until then, I wish inner peace and wisdom to my former, present, and future colleagues. We will meet,” Aloyan wrote.
Auroranews contacted the State Revenue Committee, where they stated: “Narek Aloyan was dismissed from work on August 26 at his own request.”
