Russian Defense Ministry Denies Azerbaijani Defense Ministry Statement
The Russian peacekeeping forces stationed in the conflict zone of Nagorno-Karabakh did not observe any violations of the ceasefire regime over the past day. This was reported to Armenpress by the daily information bulletin of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation. Thus, the Russian MoD denies the statement of the Azerbaijani Ministry of Defense regarding alleged firing by the Armed Forces towards Shushi.
"Russian peacekeepers are conducting round-the-clock monitoring of the situation at 27 observation posts and overseeing the maintenance of the ceasefire regime. The peacekeepers have patrolled three routes in the Askeran, Martuni, and Martakert regions," the statement said.
It is mentioned that the peacekeeping units have accompanied six columns of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Azerbaijan: four columns through the Lachin corridor heading north and south, one column from Shushi to Karmir Shuka-Jivani, and one column in the opposite direction.
According to the Russian MoD statement, the demining teams of the Russian peacekeeping forces continue to clear objects and the terrain.
