Are You Ready to Cede Armenian Territories in Exchange for Peace? - ‘5165’ Movement

The '5165 Movement' party has issued a statement: 'The high toll of the 1990s war and the hardships endured by the people were the price for the second Armenian independence. Now, after suffering such losses in the 44-day war and in the face of existential threats looming over us, we are being presented with an agenda for a peaceful era. What is the price of peace?

We demand clear answers and explanations from the Prime Minister, who came to power promising accountability to the citizens of the Republic of Armenia, regarding the situation surrounding Armenia:

1. You declare the start of a peaceful era with hostile neighbors towards Armenia and the Armenian people while:
• armed incursions into Armenian territory continue,
• the abduction of our servicemen from Armenian territory continues,
• the captivity of Armenian prisoners of war, in gross violation of international conventions, continues,
• open claims are made over other territories of Armenia,
• the very matter of Armenia's status as an independent state is questioned,
• and we are not even mentioning other statements that humiliate the Armenian people and state.
2. This list can be extended further. Tell the citizen of Armenia what logic underpins the initiation of a peaceful era with Azerbaijan and Turkey? What is the motivation and the real objective?
3. You mention some positive signals from Turkey and promise to send positive signals regarding the Armenian villages of Arradzor and Vorotan using the Azerbaijani names of Eyvazli and Chayzami. What are these positive signals received from Turkey, by what means did you receive them, and what positive signals do you plan to send to Turkey from your government, and at whose expense?
4. As a reminder: you publicly promised the people to disclose everything related to the resolution of the Nagorno-Karabakh issue, obtain the people's consent, and only then proceed with the actions prescribed to you by your office. You secretly and unexpectedly signed the November 9 agreement and made moves against Armenia's security that were not even stipulated in the agreement; for example, you ordered the Armenian armed forces to move to positions that, regulated by GPS, leave parts of the interstate road connecting Armenia with Iran under Azerbaijani control, resulting in another security crisis in Armenia as Azerbaijan closed the road for various reasons in recent days.
5. In this situation, should there be another surprise decision? Tell us clearly about the planned actions of your government according to your promise. After all, you have promised to always be transparent and open in your activities, adhering to the principles of democracy. You have provided the people with painful solutions. What painful solutions are we to expect in anticipation of the ‘peaceful era’ you mentioned?
6. Are you prepared to cede territories of the Republic of Armenia in exchange for peace? If so, which territories are you referring to?
7. Are you prepared to diminish the sovereignty of the Republic of Armenia in exchange for peace? If so, what manifestations of this are we talking about?
8. What is your security policy plan that envisions the opening of a peaceful era? Tell the people, what is the real price of peace?'
