Lithuania Donates 27,500 Doses of AstraZeneca Vaccine to Armenia
Today, Lithuania's donation of 27,500 doses of the AstraZeneca vaccine has arrived in Armenia. The information was reported by the European Union office in Armenia.
On behalf of the EU delegation, we express our gratitude to the Lithuanian government for the donation and hope it will contribute to the fight against the resurgent coronavirus in Armenia,” said Jan Pleshinger, Acting Head of the EU Delegation in Armenia.
According to him, vaccination remains a crucial tool in this fight, and there is hope that trust within the Armenian society will increase, which will help slow the spread of the pandemic through vaccinations.
It is noted that the safe transportation of vaccine shipments to Armenia was made possible through the EU Civil Protection Mechanism.
The donation was officially received at the National Center for Disease Control and Prevention by Lithuania's Ambassador to Armenia Inga Stanyte-Tolockiene, Acting Head of the European Union Delegation Jan Pleshinger, and Deputy Minister of Health Lena Nanushyan.
It is reminded that the number of individuals infected with coronavirus in Armenia has risen by 595 in the last day, reaching a total of 243,981.
