Ararat Mirzoyan Hosts Several Ambassadors

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Armenia reports: On September 3, Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan hosted the ambassadors of Argentina, Syria, and Lithuania accredited in Armenia.

During a meeting with Argentine Ambassador Mariano Vergara, the parties expressed readiness to deepen and strengthen Armenian-Argentinian friendly relations in various directions. In this regard, the necessity of fully utilizing the existing trade and economic potential was emphasized.

In the context of developing dialogue, the reactivation of the political consultations mechanism established between the two countries was highlighted. The interlocutors expressed satisfaction with the effective cooperation within international organizations, particularly under the auspices of the UN. The role of the Armenian community in Argentina in expanding bilateral friendly relations was also particularly emphasized.

In a meeting with Syrian Arab Republic Ambassador Mohammad Ahmad Haj Ibrahim, the Foreign Minister noted that Armenia highly values its long-standing friendly relations with Syria and considers the development and promotion of cooperation between the two countries in various fields important. The parties exchanged views on issues related to the Armenian-Syrian bilateral and multilateral agenda. The resumption of flights between Yerevan and Aleppo after a long hiatus was stressed.

During the meeting, both sides emphasized the deepening of inter-parliamentary relations between Armenia and Syria.

In a discussion with Lithuania's Ambassador Inga Stanyte-Tolockiene, topics concerning Armenian-Lithuanian friendly relations and the effective cooperation established in various sectors were addressed. Areas of mutual interest highlighted included trade, environment, education, science, and culture. The cooperation between Armenia and Lithuania in multilateral platforms, particularly within the framework of Armenia-EU partnership, was also discussed. The parties reaffirmed their countries' commitment to deepen mutually beneficial relations within the framework of the Eastern Partnership.

The meetings with the ambassadors also focused on issues of regional and international stability and peace. Minister Mirzoyan drew the counterparts' attention to the provocative actions of Azerbaijani armed forces against Armenia's sovereign territory, the return of Armenian prisoners of war and other detained individuals to their homeland, and the humanitarian issues present in Artsakh. Referring to the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, Ararat Mirzoyan emphasized the importance of resuming the peace settlement process under the auspices of the OSCE Minsk Group.
