UN Hopeful to Soon Access Kabul Airport
Access to Kabul airport will allow the UN to rotate its personnel and deliver essential supplies to the Afghan population. This was announced by the official spokesperson of the Secretary-General of the global organization, Stefan Dujarric, during a press briefing today, according to TASS.
“The airport is not operational for us. Of course, we are hopeful that it will resume operations soon,” he said. “Access to airports within Afghanistan is very important, considering the difficulties of movement.”
“Certainly, Kabul airport is of great importance to us for ensuring personnel rotation and the delivery of supplies,” Dujarric noted.
