Transport, Supermarkets, Some Workplaces Do Not Adhere Well to Regulations: Minister
The coronavirus situation has been concerning in the past 2-3 weeks, and the tightening of measures is a response to that, stated Health Minister Anahit Avanesyan during a briefing following a government meeting.
She noted that younger individuals are increasingly contracting the virus. The reason is the rapid spread of the Delta variant.
“We are observing a younger demographic becoming infected, an increase in serious cases, and the disease is progressing more rapidly to severe forms. Intensive care units are much busier, and patients are occupying beds for longer periods,” said Avanesyan.
The Health Minister urged citizens to remain vigilant. “In transport, supermarkets, and some workplaces, regulations are not being adhered to well,” she pointed out.
Avanesyan assured that all COVID centers are equipped with oxygen stations and necessary equipment, but they cannot guarantee what will happen in the future.
