Artsakh Suffered Severe Losses and Now Faces Great Uncertainties: Kocharian's Message

As a result of the 44-day war, Artsakh suffered severe losses and is now facing great uncertainties. This was stated by the second president of Armenia, Robert Kocharian, in his message on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of the declaration of the Republic of Artsakh.

“Dear Artsakh residents, I warmly congratulate you on the occasion of the Independence Day of the Republic of Artsakh. As a result of the 44-day war, Artsakh suffered severe losses and is now facing great uncertainties. Today, the guarantee for the preservation of Artsakh's statehood is your unwavering will to live on your own land and to enrich it. I am confident that you realize the seriousness of the current situation. Together we must do everything possible to protect the Republic of Artsakh,” Kocharian stated.

It should be recalled that on September 2, 1991, the joint session of the regional and district councils of the Nagorno-Karabakh Autonomous Oblast and the Shahumyan district declared the Republic of Nagorno-Karabakh (NKR) within the borders of the former NKR and Shahumyan district.
