Staff Reductions Have Become a Means of Firing Undesirable Employees - Human Rights Defender
For years, the annual reports summarizing the activities of the Human Rights Defender have raised the issue of the absence of legislative criteria for prioritizing the continuation of employment in the event of staff reductions. This was reported by the public relations department of the Human Rights Defender.
The problem has been highlighted in complaints addressed to the Defender, in which citizens have informed that employers exhibit unjust approaches when terminating their employment based on staff reductions.
The study of the complaints received shows that the concerns raised are justified in terms of the fact that when determining the preference for continuing employment in the case of a position reduction, employers act at their discretion. As a result, there are instances in which employees with longer work experience, higher class ranks, or better performance evaluations are dismissed in favor of those who meet these criteria to a lesser extent.
A comprehensive review of the complaints leads to the conclusion that staff reductions are often used by employers as a means to get rid of
