Deputy Foreign Ministers of Russia and Azerbaijan Discuss the Nagorno-Karabakh Issue

The Deputy Foreign Minister of Russia, Andrei Rudenko, had a phone conversation on Wednesday with his Azerbaijani counterpart Khalaf Khalafov, during which they discussed the implementation of the trilateral statement regarding Nagorno-Karabakh made by the leaders of Russia, Armenia, and Azerbaijan.

According to the Russian Foreign Ministry, "During the exchange of views, a range of current issues related to the bilateral and regional agenda was discussed, including the implementation of the agreements reached by the leaders of Russia, Azerbaijan, and Armenia on November 9, 2020, and January 11, 2021."

It is noteworthy that on the previous day, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov received Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan in Moscow. The parties addressed a number of issues, including the return of prisoners of war, the unblocking of transportation links, and the situation along the Armenian-Azerbaijani border.
