Afghan Taliban Radical Movement Forms Its Government

The Afghan Taliban radical movement is in the process of forming its government, with the first appointments already known. On September 1, Khaama News Agency reported, citing sources within the movement.

According to these sources, Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar has been appointed as the Foreign Minister, Mullah Yakub, the son of the Taliban founder, has been appointed as the Minister of Defense, and Khalifa Haqqani, the son of Jalaluddin Haqqani, the founder of the ‘Haqqani’ terrorist network, has been appointed as the Minister of Interior.

So far, Taliban official representatives have not commented on this announcement, promising that the composition of the Taliban government will be announced in the near future. Prior to this, the movement's press secretary Zabihullah Mujahid stated on Twitter that the Taliban's leadership council, chaired by the movement's leader Haibatullah Akhundzada, held a three-day meeting in Kandahar, where political, social, and economic issues were discussed, including those related to the future government.

“A number of decisions have been made regarding the protection of residents' property, the well-being of people, as well as the formation of a new Islamic government in the country. Necessary consultations have been held on these issues,” noted the movement's press secretary, as reported by Interfax.
