I Have Given You My Only Child: Now His Grave Has Been Desecrated – Protest in Front of Government

The father of the fallen hero in the 44-day war, Narek Gevorgyan, Roman Gevorgyan, along with his mother, relatives of other fallen heroes, and several dozen citizens are currently gathered in front of the Armenian government. They are outraged by the fact that yesterday, at the Yerablur military pantheon, the gravestone of Narek Gevorgyan was destroyed.

“My son is your son, people. They have desecrated your child's grave and say it’s by the Prime Minister's order. I urge all of you to come to the square, in front of the government, to hold accountable the one who issued that order. I went in and saw that my child's grave is not there, the stones are broken, the photo is on the ground. That child went for all of us, for our entire nation. I beg you all to come; I have given you my only child,” Roman Gevorgyan said in a conversation with reporters.

Another man, with tears in his eyes, said that such a thing “could only be done by the Turks.”

“I will bring the ministers and generals down under my feet. They live off the blood of our children, and our children can’t even rest peacefully in Yerablur,” he said.

Earlier, it was reported that yesterday, on the afternoon of August 30, the gravestone of the Hero of the First Class, Narek Gevorgyan, was destroyed and stolen at the Yerablur military pantheon, along with the pillars and benches.
