We Will Definitely Acquire the Second Batch of S-400s from Russia: Erdogan
Ankara has no doubt that the acquisition of the second batch of S-400 surface-to-air missile systems from Russia will take place. This was stated by Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, according to RIA Novosti.
“We have no doubt about purchasing the second package of S-400s from Russia. We are taking many steps in the field of defense industry with Russia. During the firefighting, we used Russian aircraft. In our recent phone conversation with President Vladimir Putin, we discussed this topic,” Erdogan stated.
Russia and Turkey signed a contract for the supply of the missile systems in 2017, with deliveries completed in 2019. Ankara is now looking to acquire another batch of S-400 systems from Moscow. This was previously reported by the country's Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu.
