Russia to Increase Speed and Range of Hypersonic Missiles, Shoigu Says

Russia is working on improving the speed, range, and accuracy of its hypersonic missiles. This statement was made by Russian Defense Minister Sergey Shoigu, according to RIA Novosti.

"In the long term, we plan to increase the range of hypersonic weapons. This means increasing speed, and when we talk about the same hypersonic technology, it also involves improving accuracy, of course, aligning carriers with new types of weapons," Shoigu said in an interview with the Soloviev Live YouTube channel.

Discussing the adaptation of various carriers for missiles, the minister noted that it is necessary to create a single launch system for hypersonic missiles for all types of equipment.

Shoigu reminded that currently, the Russian Armed Forces already have the “Kinzhal” hypersonic missiles, which are installed on MiG-31K fighters.
