Azerbaijan Transporting Militants from Afghanistan to Occupied Artsakh with Turkey's Help: Babayan
Azerbaijan, in conjunction with Turkey, is sending militants to the occupied territories of Nagorno-Karabakh. This was stated by David Babayan, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Artsakh Republic, in an interview with a NEWS.am correspondent.
"After the Taliban took power in Afghanistan, several militants from Al-Qaeda were rapidly deployed to the territories of the Artsakh Republic occupied by Azerbaijan. This is being done in cooperation with Turkey for several purposes. Naturally, Turkey wants to save its militants’ backbone, which it uses in various regions, primarily in the Middle East. The deployment of militants in the occupied territories of Nagorno-Karabakh will create serious issues for the security of Russia, Iran, and regional stability in general, and will somehow control Azerbaijan itself. There are already many international terrorist groups in these areas that are not actually controlled by Baku, but by Turkey. Thus, Turkey is strengthening its position in Azerbaijan.
Despite the slogans of "brotherhood" and "one nation, two states," Turkey is using forceful leverage to ensure that the 'brother' does not rethink its 'brotherly relations' in matters demanded by Ankara. We see a deeply thought-out geopolitical line where radical terrorist forces are actively utilized. To conceal what is happening, information is being disseminated about the alleged transfer of Afghan refugees to the occupied territories of Nagorno-Karabakh. We all know that refugees from Afghanistan prefer Western countries. Since refugees are people who have collaborated in one way or another with the Western coalition, they have views that differ from the Taliban's approaches to public order and state-building in Afghanistan, and they have no place in Azerbaijan, especially in the occupied territories, where Azerbaijan is destroying everything, turning those areas into a launchpad. Therefore, it is necessary for international organizations and relevant bodies of interested states to verify this information, considering the threat that this transfer of militants poses to stability and security," emphasized David Babayan.
