We Have Already Visited Several UAV Manufacturing Companies: Defense Ministry Ready to Include Them in Its Arsenal - Vahagn Khachaturyan
We have already visited several manufacturers involved in UAVs, and we are both ready for very close cooperation. This was stated today, August 27, during a conversation with reporters after a government meeting by the Minister of High-Tech Industry, Vahagn Khachaturyan.
“We are ready for close cooperation with the private sector. Representatives from the Defense Ministry and our ministry have already met with companies engaged in UAVs and are prepared to address the issues they have raised. Mainly, these are related to order placements because, to the credit of these individuals, those eight companies have organized the entire preparation phase themselves. Several companies have also entered the practical phase. To my knowledge, the Defense Ministry is ready to include this product in its arsenal if they can be supplied. They have an idea and are implementing it; the further development is already connected to the state — through us and the Defense Ministry. If they meet the requirements, a contract will be signed,” he said.
The minister highlighted digitization and cybersecurity as major issues in the sector. “We also have a special problem related to the defense industry complex because we have serious challenges in state enterprises, as we need to boost local production,” Vahagn Khachaturyan emphasized.
