New Appointment in the Investigative Committee
By the order of the President of the Investigative Committee of the Republic of Armenia, Argishti Kyaramyan, dated August 26, 2021, Torgom Samveli Chandoyan, a second-class advisor of justice, has been appointed as the head of the Sevan investigative division of the Gegharkunik regional investigative department of the Republic of Armenia's Investigative Committee, relieving him of his position as a senior investigator for particularly important cases in the same department.
Biography
Torgom Samveli Chandoyan, born on January 17, 1982, in the village of Kamo, Gegharkunik Province, serves as the head of the Sevan investigative division of the Gegharkunik regional investigative department of the Republic of Armenia’s Investigative Committee.
He graduated from the Faculty of Law of the Gavar State University under the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Armenia in 2003. From 2003 to 2005, he served in the armed forces of the Republic of Armenia. From 2006 to 2008, he worked as an investigator in the Shirak regional investigative department of the main investigation department of the Police of the Republic of Armenia. From 2008 to 2014, he held the positions of investigator, senior investigator, and chief investigator in the Martuni investigative division of the Gegharkunik regional investigative department of the Police of the Republic of Armenia.
From 2014 to 2021, he served as a senior investigator for particularly important cases in the Gegharkunik regional investigative department of the Investigative Committee of the Republic of Armenia. He has been rewarded for fulfilling his official duties with distinction through orders from the Chief of Police of the Republic of Armenia, the Minister of Defense of the Republic of Armenia, and the President of the Investigative Committee of the Republic of Armenia.
Torgom Chandoyan participated in the aggressive war unleashed by Azerbaijan in September 2020. He is married and has two children.
