Aliyev Identifies Regions Where They Would Face Difficulties in 'Liberating' If War Continues
Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev made a statement today, noting that the cessation of the Artsakh war was a wise move for Azerbaijan. He emphasized that if the act of capitulation had not been signed, they would have faced significant difficulties.
“On the night of November 10, Armenia signed the act of capitulation, and the war ended. Our decision to cease hostilities was absolutely rational. If the war had continued, we could have encountered challenges in liberating the Kelbajar (Karvachar) and Lachin (Kashatagh) regions. The natural climate and mountainous terrain of that area could have posed problems for us. Additionally, winter was approaching,” Aliyev stated, as reported by Azerbaijani media.
