Prosecutor General Sends Footage of Incidents in Parliament to the Special Investigative Service

The examination of the video recordings from the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia meeting dated August 25, 2021, evidently indicates the inappropriate behavior by certain members of parliament towards the conduct of representatives of the legislative body, as well as disrespectful treatment towards citizens present at the session and those following it. This was coupled with the use of indecent language and acts of violence, obstructing the normal operations of the National Assembly.

Taking this into account, the Prosecutor General of Armenia has sent the aforementioned recordings to the Special Investigative Service of Armenia, with the instruction to prepare materials as per Articles 180-181 of the Criminal Procedure Code, and to provide a legal assessment of the incident and the actions of its participants.
