Children Over 12 to Be Vaccinated in Georgia

Children aged 12 and older in Georgia will soon be vaccinated against COVID-19. This information was reported by Sputnik Georgia, referencing the country’s Deputy Minister of Health, Tamara Gabunia.

It is noted that the ministry is confident that vaccinating children will contribute to the retreat of the coronavirus. “Vaccinating children over 12 brings us closer to the end of the pandemic. The vaccination committee will consider this issue, and a decision will be made in 2-3 weeks. Several European countries have already implemented this, and we will take their experiences into account,” said Gabunia.

According to her, vaccination for children aged 12 and older in Georgia will only take place at the request and decision of the parents. Currently, vaccination in Georgia is available for those aged 16 and older. According to the latest data, 1,038,292 people have been vaccinated in Georgia.
