20-Year-Old Citizen Deliberately Hits 25-Year-Old Fellow Citizen and Flees: Police

A 20-year-old citizen from the town of Masis in the Ararat region deliberately hit a 25-year-old fellow citizen with his car, intending to kill him, and then fled the scene. This information was reported by the press service of the Armenian Police.

It was noted that on August 24 at 6:30 PM, the police department in Masis received a call from a hospital stating that a 25-year-old man had been admitted with injuries sustained from being hit by a vehicle.

The criminal investigators of Masis discovered that around 6:00 PM, at the intersection of Republic and School Streets in Masis, the 20-year-old, driving a Volvo S80, deliberately hit the citizen who was later transported to the hospital and then fled the scene.

Operational investigative groups were dispatched to the scene.

A criminal case has been initiated under the first part of Article 34-104 of the Armenian Criminal Code (attempted murder).

The driver of the vehicle has been located; he presented himself to the department after being called for explanatory work and was arrested. The Volvo S80 has been found and moved to the special section of the Masis Police Department.

An investigation is underway.
