IMF Makes Largest Allocation in History to Azerbaijan: $650 Billion

Azerbaijan is set to receive a special drawing rights (SDR) loan of approximately $530 million from the International Monetary Fund (IMF). This credit line is being allocated within the framework of the IMF’s crisis response distribution plan.

It is important to note that the IMF plans to carry out allocations of special drawing rights amounting to a total of $650 billion, which can be utilized by member states for economic recovery purposes, while also ensuring the satisfaction of long-term reserve requirements. The overarching goal remains the stability of the global economy.

Of this allocation, $275 billion is earmarked for developing countries. This represents the largest allocation in the history of the IMF.
