The Consequences of the Last War in Artsakh Have Not Been Overcome: Lynn Tracy
The U.S. Ambassador to Armenia, Lynn Tracy, believes that the consequences of the last war in Nagorno-Karabakh have not been overcome and that the conflict remains unresolved as the status of Nagorno-Karabakh is still in question.
“We will work as co-chair of the Minsk Group, striving for the de-escalation of the situation, the elimination of incidents, so that the remaining issues regarding the consequences of the war and other problems can be addressed for a final resolution,” Lynn Tracy said in a conversation with reporters in the Syunik region.
Commenting on security and border incident issues, Tracy noted that she has expressed her views on these matters, and several positions have been voiced from the U.S. State Department. “You may know that I visited one of the border areas in Gegharkunik province in July, where incidents were recorded, and I want to clearly state that we call for the de-escalation of the situation and for violence to end as quickly as possible,” Lynn Tracy emphasized.
The ambassador highlighted that resolving these issues is extremely important, especially because civilians find themselves caught in the middle of the conflict, and their safety and security are at risk. Therefore, considering all this, resolving these questions takes on urgency.
