Our Country is in Danger, We Must Think About Saving It: No Other Agenda is Relevant - Edgar Ghazaryan
The former head of the Constitutional Court staff, Edgar Ghazaryan, writes on his Facebook page:
“Our country is in danger; we must think about saving it: no other agenda is relevant. 31 years ago, when the Declaration of Independence of Armenia was adopted, all of society was filled with dreams and excitement. The Armenian people had regained the opportunity to create an independent state.
The inspiring force of the Artsakh movement and the unity of the people propelled everyone towards victory; all kinds of difficulties and obstacles seemed insignificant. At that time, no one could even think that, on the path of state-building, Armenia could fall into the hands of treacherous enemies who would destroy everyone’s achievements and successes, surrender the homeland to the enemy, shatter the backbone of the society, and undermine all the state and public institutions that were created with great difficulty, discredit the country, and once again put us in front of the danger of losing our statehood.
On the day of the adoption of the Declaration of Independence, the only thing that the incompetent rulers of the day could do was to decide to unlawfully imprison a distinguished doctor and member of the National Assembly. This was the news that opened the morning of Independence Day in Armenia.”
