Forest Fire Breaks Out Again in Azerbaijan; Helicopter Involved in Extinguishing Efforts

A forest fire has broken out near the village of Sorou in the Lerik district of Azerbaijan. According to Minval.az, firefighters from the country’s Ministry of Emergency Situations continue to work on extinguishing the blaze.

A helicopter from the State Fire Service, as well as troops from the Civil Defense, relevant forces from the Southern Regional Center, employees from the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources’ Forest Management Center, and an aviation squad have been involved in the firefighting efforts.

In the area engulfed by the fire, dry grass, dead stumps, and bushes are burning. The firefighting operations are complicated by winds and the complex terrain of the location.
