Erdogan Sitting at the Feet of Afghan Field Commander: Turkey Aiming for Afghanistan - Arman Abovyan
We have already written that Turkey, in conjunction with Pakistan, will effectively become the main "roof" of the Taliban in international diplomatic and economic arenas. This was stated by former MP Arman Abovyan from the Prosperous Armenia faction.
“Undoubtedly, the Turks are in a more favorable position than the Pakistanis (Pakistan has a more negative image than Turkey), which both the Taliban and the Turks understand. Turkey's establishment in Afghanistan grants the Turks enormous capabilities to influence regional processes, which undoubtedly fits into the pan-Turkic concept that serves as the basis of Turkish foreign policy.
Now I will not speak about the economic benefits for the Turks, starting from the illegal drug trade to the extraction and export of Afghan minerals. More importantly, the following:
- The Turks will use the Taliban to blackmail Central Asian countries and indirectly Russia, which is actually a very influential tool of pressure on Russia.
- The Turks will certainly use their influence in Afghanistan to create instability in China's Xinjiang Uyghur region, where there are very serious centers of radical Islam.
- The Turks are gaining access to an army of thousands of religious zealots with the idea of a global Islamic revolution.
- Turkey, alongside the Syrian issue, will have another excellent tool for blackmail/trading with Europeans, as it is the Turks who will control the millions of flows of Afghan refugees. Now guess where the Afghans will rush in the coming months if no logistical barriers are put in place.
To be continued...
