Cancer is Devouring the Organism of Turkey's President: Nairi Hovhikyan
Journalist Nairi Hovhikyan wrote on his Facebook page: "The effects of Erdoğan's cancer are visible in his photographs. Recently, I was looking at the latest pictures of Turkey's president. The scourge of the 21st century is suffering from colorectal cancer, a battle that began back in 2011. Erdoğan has undergone several major surgeries, primarily performed by top surgeons flown in from the United States. A tumor, detected 15 centimeters from the large intestine, was successfully removed in November 2011 and February 2012, but it has spread and has been devouring Turkey’s president's organism over the past two years. In 2016, when I personally saw Erdoğan, he was still a robust man with a stern Turkish gaze, unprepared to die.
I look at the 2021 photographs and see a man with a hunched back and a deathly face, showing not only the passage of time but also the ravaging mark of a rapidly spreading illness. The 67-year-old Erdoğan will not live long, I believe. However, this should not give us a reason to rejoice inappropriately or to fall into another dreamlike delusion.
We must act, act, and act again, remaining aware of the realities of the world. This should be our vision for the future."
