Defense Ministry Instructs Food Service Companies to Address Deficiencies
On August 20, Armenian Minister of Defense Arshak Karapetyan met with representatives of organizations providing meal preparation and preservation services on behalf of the defense ministry. During the meeting, officials from the RA Armed Forces Rear Administration and the RA Military Police presented violations recorded during inspections, noting that in some instances, the quality of food and services provided to military units did not meet the contractual requirements.
The Minister of Defense harshly criticized organizations that allowed violations during the preparation and preservation of food for military personnel, instructing them to fully rectify all identified deficiencies within a reasonable timeframe.
Arshak Karapetyan ordered the military police to establish daily supervision in canteens and food storage facilities and to apply the full legal framework against companies that commit violations.
Summarizing the outcomes of the meeting, Arshak Karapetyan emphasized that the quality of food provided to military personnel has been and will remain under his direct supervision, urging that maximum effort be dedicated to the provision of meals for soldiers and officers who risk their lives for the defense of the homeland.
