New Project for 10th-12th Grade Students: J. Andreasian
The Deputy Minister of Education, Science, Culture, and Sports, Zhanna Andreasian, has announced: “We have presented a draft for the implementation of a credit system for 10th to 12th grade students for public discussion.
We believe that the credit system will significantly increase interest and efficiency in learning in upper grades, by introducing the following important changes:
- Credits accumulated from subjects chosen by students at school or external assessments can replace university entrance exams (both unified and internal).
- Based on the accumulated credits, a student can be exempted from studying the relevant subject courses (modules) at a higher educational institution, provided the credits are accepted by that institution.
- Credits can also be transferred between schools, extra-curricular educational institutions, and initial (vocational) or secondary specialized institutions, according to agreements signed between institutions.
The system will be implemented after trials.
