Ministry of Defense Statement: Opponent Suffers at Least One Casualty – What Happened Last Night?

On the night of August 16, Azerbaijani armed forces units provoked hostilities in the Syunik region of the Armenian-Azerbaijani border, particularly in the area of Lake Sevan, attempting to secure positional advancement.

The Armenian forces conducted counter-actions, resulting in the adversary being pushed back to their starting positions. During the ensuing exchange of gunfire, the opponent suffered at least one casualty. There were no reported injuries on the Armenian side.
